Hi,

I'd appreciate if someone can advise on this:

I am a PR of Canada and my husband and son are American citizens. I came back to Canada recently for us to restart our life in Canada, and was planning to sponsor PR (outland) for my husband and son. However, my husband is so close to getting a job offer from a Canadian company that is willing to sponsor him with TN visa. (They are giving him an appropriate job title for his NOC and writing him a specific offering letter.) Because in this way my husband and son can be "residents" faster (i.e. they can receive MSP, etc. sooner), I am thinking he should pursue the NAFTA process with the job offer.

I am wondering though, as I've read that a TN visa applicant has to prove his/her ties to his/her country, if my being Canadian PR create a problem in his getting TN visa approved?? My husband has a bank account and his family members (his parents, siblings, etc.) in the US but that's all. I am a Canadian PR, living in Canada. Does anyone know if it will cause a problem??

Thank you in advance for your input,
Es.
