Hypothetical question about PNP

Just a hypothetical question: as PNP applicant one is tied to the employer and as far as I understand if the employment ends before becoming a PR it cancels the PR application. But how about if the circumstances that were out of the applicants control, like bancruptcy of the employer, a whole department gets shut down, that kind of thing, nothing that was done wrong on the employee's end, strictly economical reasons on the employer's end. Is there any way to appeal? A friend of mine is debating between applying under PNP but is hesitant because of his employment situation

Nothing is going to happen to applicant if he/she had applied prior to business closure. With the necessary documents those expirence are obviously countable. Well, many Post Study work Permit holders quit job in Canada for a brief holiday.

I was just wondering about that because in my PNP documents it says that I have to notify them about any changes in terms of employment and it would be the same for my friend, who would qualify under the same stream. And as far as I know they can ask about employment during landing as well. So it's really no problem as long as the applicant can proof that they did everythinbf right on their end and didn't quit or jeopardize their employment?
