Hello,
I was just wondering if there is a time or procedure difference depending whether its the husband or wife who is being sponsored.
would it make any difference and how? and do all visa offices have different time lines and procedures?
anyone with any ideas on this??

hope to get the answer to this......

all the best to everyone ..... god bless !!!

No way! Um, sexism, isn't that illegal?

There is no time difference for women or man,Canada does not discriminate against women here they are equal to man,so if it is a woman who is sponsoring the time frame will be the same if it is a man sponsoring,if you look under procesing times it says country,it doesnt say female 8 months male 6.
Its all solely based on your country of birth. But during the process if you are sponsoring your wife then their background checks goes a bit quicker as women are less likely to cause a crime.

hello,
i was referring to or having in mind this aspect... that for BC for men and women, time is perhaps different. actually, just trying ways and means to arrive/derive time for PPR..... but i had read some where tht BC for women and from countries like india is faster as compared to some other countries like kuwait and pakistan and specifically for men... so was wondering.
India being so fast with app processing, perhaps the BC would also be fast ..... and then if the BC if to be done locally (within same country) then also it should be fast..... of course these are all presumptions and expectations ......

any comments are very welcome !!!

Really??!! Was tongue firmly in cheek when you said that, after having insisted the sexes are equal in Canada?

Or is there empirical evidence that men commit more crimes? I suspect that they do, but would like to see the facts (if they are readily accessible) before firming up my conclusion.

Sorry to burst your 'equality' bubble, but sexism does exist within our immigration system.

In Accra, Ghana (processing for West Africa), applicants who are women are processed more quickly than male applicants. Seems an African woman being sponsored by a Canadian husband does not look as sketchy as an African man being sponsored by a Canadian wife.

It sucks, but that's what happens there.

So are CIC overseas offices staffed by Canadians? Surely you would have to be a Canadian citizen to work in one?

They have both Canadian based staff and locally engaged staff. All VOs are Canadian. Some offices have Designated VOs who are locally engaged.

Well I only hope that the Canadian VOs keep the local ones firmly in line and don't allow offensive concepts like sexism to influence any decisions.
