If in a family of two where both husband and wife are PRs, wife doesn't want to apply for citizenship and wants her residency to lapse out by not fulfilling 2 out of 5 requirement.

On the other hand husband fulfills the residence requirement and applies for citizenship. Is there any effect on husband's application based on the wife not fulfilling 2/5 requirement?

Thanks.

If the husband is applying individually as a single applicant then he is absoutely fine ..... only when you apply as a family together you need to be concerned about other family members.

Hope this helps !!

Their PR status is individual of each other. The husband can apply for citizenship by himself. His application will then be handled individually. It does not matter for him in that case if his wife were to lose her PR.
