Hi All,
Here's my story- my PGWP expired on June 26,2015. As per my immigration lawyer, he applied for an extension on June 25,2015 by mail (in order to buy me more time). We didn't hear back anything on it till The end of July. So, he asked me to complete a visitor/ temporary resident visa ASAP and send it to Ottawa. I sent one on Aug 1/2015. However, on Aug 7 received a letter from CIC stating that the TRV application should have gone to the Vegreville location with the restoration fee. I was then asked by my lawyer to send the same application to Vegreville, which I did the same day. Nothing was heard back for my WP extension or the TRV till Nov 24, when I received another letter from CIC to get my status restored. I called CIC regarding my WP extension & TRV app, when they shocked me and said that as per CIC I had not applied for any WP extensions or any other applications for that matter. They said they didn't receive any form for me and that I couldn't even apply restoration now as my 90 day period was over (starting June 26,2015) and I was over-staying. I checked with my "lawyer " & he simply told me that the WP ext application could have been lost in mail and that I can still apply for restoration, given the fact that CIC sent the last restoration letter on Nov 24. Had the case been otherwise CIC would have sent a letter asking me to leave the country. So I applied for restoration on Dec 16. Now my previous employer got an LMIA approved & said he'll help me to get a bonded WP. Today my lawyer sent me an application for WP from outside Canada & when questioned about the form (that how can I apply 2 applications with CIC within 3 months- 1 from within Canada {restoration} & this one from outside Canada) , he simply changed the form to application to change conditions or remain in Canada as a worker. Can someone please suggest me what's my best option/ what can I do/ what application should I fill?? I don't trust my lawyer anymore.

Your lawyer is an idiot - get rid of him.

Based on the information you have provided, it's too late to restore your status from within Canada. Your only choice is to physically leave Canada and then submit an application from outside of Canada.

That's what I was thinking too. Do you think that I can wait for another week to get an answer on my restoration as I attached all the proofs I could gather for all the different applications. I had a signed letter from my lawyer as well stating that he applied for a WP ext on June 25, 2015.

If you already sent the application for restoration of status and are waiting for a decision then you should wait for a response and then if they approve try and apply for the work permit with the approved LMIA.

I agree with Scylla get rid of your lawyer, you are paying him/her for nothing. Trust me I also went through some similar with my lawyer but the only issue with her was she made so many mistakes on my applications and if I wasn't so adamant about double checking the applications it would have been an issue for me. You probably don't even need the lawyer now that you have an approved LMIA.
