How would expression of interest impact visiting to Canada?

My Canada visitor visa expires soon so I will need to renew in spring 2015.
How would expression of interest impact (assume no ITA)?
Will it harm my visiting even before visa expiration?
Will it harm my next visitor visa application?

Thank you for any input.

EE has nothing to do with visitor visas.

My concern is that the #1 condition for granting visitor visa is free of immigration intention.
How would EE dodge this bullet then?

visitor visas has no connection with EE... both r different...
They are both managed through CIC and theoretically the officer handling visitor visa will learn that I jumped into the EE pool

Very logical thinking, however, I don't think there is a way around it. I would consider it a risk. You have to consider it carefully. I am confident, they will make the connection that you have a visitor visa and applied to migrate too. Those two are contradictory.

Does anyone know if applicants can withdraw their EE application at any time?

If it matters, should seriously consider the timing.
At least renewing visitor visa before registering in the pool :(
