How to withdraw application for permanent residence ?

Dear Qorax,

I have one query which I need to put to senior members also.

My wife had applied as principal applicant in the year 2006 which now comes under the pre-2008 backlog cases. Now as I have got my canadian address appearing in ECAS which means my present case is thru with the process. I would like to withdraw the case of 2006. Now what i want to know is :-

1. what is the procedure for that?
2. Will i get back the processing fee paid at that time?
3. Whether a simple letter mentioning file no. and request for withdrawl of case and refund of processing fee be suffice?

Just send them a letter, referencing your wife's file number, and telling them she wishes to withdraw the application and to send any eligible refund to you. That's really all it takes.
