hello,
I have applied under FDSW class on june 9 2009at sydney CANADA. I am supposing that i will get approval for further process at buffalo visa office. As average time to get AOR is 5 to 6 weeks or more in some cases, I want to ask that how can i utilize this waiting period in preparing myself for next step?? I have mentioned HIGH profiency in english in initial application, even i have not attended English test n i think they will ask for test, so shall i start preparing for english preparation at this time without wasting time?? or should i start proceeding for PCC from india and USA (i am citizen of india n living in USA for last 2 years on student visa)??? or i should start accumulating funds??? or altogether ???

Hello,

Even while waiting for AOR, and if you are quite certain that you are an eligible applicant, I suggest you start collecting all supporting documents for full application. Start with IELTS and look on your local IELTS administrator the dates available for testing and register to take the test early because dates for testing fill up easily and you do not want your scheduled to be pushed back for much later. You also want to know how you will fare in the IELTS. There are some applicants who had to take IELTS more than once and you would want to have enough time just in case. But hopefully you only need to take it once.

You can also prepare to send out your police certificate applications. FBI processing takes about a month. Look up the states where you need to get PCCs so you can inquire how long they process such requests. You also have to factor in the time it takes to mail these back to you. What you want to do is be ready with all supporting docs so that any time your AOR comes, you should be able to submit full application and not only start collecting your documents at that point.

It also takes time to collect employment letters and university/college records and you can very well start with these immediately. Unlike Police certifs which can only be submitted within 3 months from their date of issue, employment letters and university/college records can be collected without worrying that they have a so called "expiration" date.

Good luck!

Meanwhile you never think that you have applied for FSW and watch TV, Play any of your favourite game. and spend less time with your girlfriend because it will keep you healthy and positive. These all comments are purely based on experience because most of the people i have seen at this forum are heart patients after applying :)))

Although the top bit of your post is quite rude but I started liking it when it got to "...because most of the people i have seen at this forum are heart patients after applying". Cuz actually I agree with that.

Couldn't agree with you more. I found myself lurking on this site all the time since I applied and eventually answering questions whether I can. Just a sign that this application has been on my mind since. <Sigh!>
