Nb: moderator, this is not a duplicate, please read it.

How would a minor child have been treated under a temporary work permit?
currently in Canada on a closed work permit, my wife was granted has an open work permit,It is highly skilled NOC category.

Our 15 month old son came with us, he is now 3yrs old. I cannot find any paperwork we have for him, can I assume he is linked to our work permits? On the PR application it asks for a UIC code, but where do i get this if he does not have his own permit/visa?

There is no mention of my son on either work permit, at the same time, given our status, he does not need a study visa to go to preschool/nursery.

Please help!

You're posting in the wrong section of the forum. This isn't related to Express Entry immigration. You should have posted to the Foreign Workers section of the forum.

Your son must have come to Canada on a TRV, eTA or entered on a US passport. You need to apply to extend his status in Canada every six months to keep his status valid in Canada. If you arrived in Canada two years ago and haven't applied to extend his status, then he has been in Canada for quite some time now without status.
