Hi all,

I am in Canada and have my post graduation work permit. I want to sponsor my spouse who is currently in my native country (i.e. outside canada). I havent seen any documentation regarding how to sponsor the spouse in this case.

I have no knowledge of how to get her here and which FORMS and documents should be submitted and where?

The cic website of my home country only talks about visitor visas and work permits which require a labor opinion.
I know I can sponsor my spouse for an open work permit but dont know how?

Could anyone kindly guide me in the right direction.

Thanks a lot

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Send your spouse a copy of your PG work permit and she will use it to apply for a TRV and open work permit at the embassy where she is. She is not guaranteed to be approved. She still needs to show ties to home country to get the TRV.

Thanks Leon for replying..

That seems the way to go- applying for TRV and OWP at the same time......

But I have seen a lot of rejections in similar situations.... It looks like there is no guarantee that the TRV will be issued... What ties can my spouse show to her native place..? I think that is the most important thing when applying in the above category.

Could you please provide more inputs?

Thanks
