Hi Everyone!

This is my first time posting anywhere online and to elaborate my query and just to start a non-bureaucratic friendly tyro-oriented discussion, let me explain my query.

I am an engineering graduate (non-Canadian) currently seeking immigration to Canada and an employment in any capacity. By any capacity I mean, I any suitable position that makes me eligible to move to then live in Canada permanently. This includes but is not limited to, Computer Operator, Clerk, Admin Assistant, Cashier, Data Entry Operator, Engineer, Associate Engineer, Flight Attendant, Ticketing Officer, even a Farm Worker etc.

The reasons I am asking this information are multiple but mainly include:
  • - Deciphering bureaucratic information available everywhere including the CIC website
  • - Figuring out the non-competitive, in-demand careers in Canada
  • - Gaining an insight from those who have already immigrated or currently involved in the process

It is usually mentioned that having an employment offer greatly increases immigration probability or at least guarantees temporary work visa.
But how does one even get the offer. There must be some careers highly demanded otherwise why would the LMO/LMIA form even exist?

I attained an engineering degree because I could but there is no way to buy experience. The only way is getting hired in the first place. I am desperately seeking a bright future therefore am open to any career in Canada because at least that country offers some version of honesty and discipline.

I don't mind which province/territory it is. If it's too cold or too hot there. I even like gardening and won't mind working on a farm either.

So, to summarize; is there a way to search for entry-level jobs in Canada that do accept foreigners easily?

Thanks for reading.
Please do share any opportunities.

Regards,
Hope-Seeker

Unfortunately there is no easy way to find a job from outside Canada that could lead to a successful immigration application. The whole work PR immigration program is based around how much of an asset would an individual be to the country, what existing skills and experience do they bring.

Even entry level jobs as listed would have an expectation of prior experience but the chances of finding an entry level job to support an immigration application is remote if not impossible and that unfortunately is the reality. Work experience in a chosen field is key in any application and whilst there may be occupations in demand prior experience is key usually measured in a few years.

As for LMIA the main criteria is the fact an employer has to demonstrate no Canadian or PR can be found to fill the role but to answer the question which careers would fit this scenario is an impossible question to answer given every case is different at the time. Generally you could say LMIAs are applied for roles that could be specialised in nature or simply there really is nobody local to an employer that can fill a skilled role, skilled being the operative word not generally entry level jobs..

An alternative route many here take is to participate in a study program followed by a post grad work permit where they build up the other all important factor Canadian work experience, a must for many employers but a long term view to applying for PR.

The immigration process some would say is deliberately not easy as for most people it can be one of the most important or difficult , certainly stressful experiences of their lives.

Even when some people have succeeded with their applications, arrived in the country many hundreds do not stay as they find Canada is not all what they expected and their life in the home country was not as bad as they thought given even Canada has employment issues and certainly higher costs than many new immigrants expected. Plus believe it or not some new immigrants even complain that it is too cold in winter as though they didnt do some research in advance.
