Hope you are doing well and safe. Want to share some of my experiences and money saving apps that helped me save especially during the frugal days when I did not have job. However, I continue to do till date.
Prior coming to Canada, you must have already prepared your list of priority tasks and as soon as you land you start acting on that list such as accommodation, Health Card, Driving License, PR Card, Bank, family doctor, school, Phone No., job etc. But no one tells you about so many different Canadian mobile apps available, wherein from day 1 you can start saving tons of money on variety of products and earn cash backs. It's perfect for people that want to get paid for something they already do. Wish there were some post on such topic, when we came to Canada, we learnt the hard way. One of the trick that I use to earn 3x is, use the same receipt in different apps where applicable, their rewards are different so I earn points, cashbacks and membership rewards. Make Money by answering surveys, watching ads, uploading grocery receipts etc. Everytime I shop from Dollarama, Freshco, Shoppers, Loblaws, Metro, Walmart, Giant Tiger, etc I upload the receipt and receive .10c (I usually blackout the card details part). Participate in survey which does not take more than 1 min and earn .05c or 0.15c. Also, there are lot of products listed for cashback. When 12 organic eggs had cash back of $2. - Swagbucks: Save money with coupons, promo codes, sales and cashback. You can add the extension on chrome or edge when you are shopping online it will pop-up notification in the site with offer. (Though at times it’s annoying but it reminds me about various available discounts.) I am not a great fan of survey it takes longer also for some of the questions I am not comfortable answering. But if you manage to qualify with the initial questions Survey cash backs are great.
