Dear Friends;

I recieve my GCMS today , I got all of my points , every thing is ok in my GCMS , just one

NOTE : Client claims to have been manufacturing equipment repair supervisor,she was working in this job more than 3 years.
Morever she is well qulified mechanical engineeing and it is unlikely that she would work in NOC:7216 as it is Considerably under her capabilities and her high education so recommend highly an interview.

I am now as a PhD student Mechanical Engineer ,
My Question: How I can satisfy the officer that I am really interested to work for NOC:7216 , even that I have PhD??

I must admit, it does seem a bit surprising that you would be interested in this position when you have a PhD. What's your answer? Because in a case like this the truth really has to be the basis for your answer to the visa officer.

In my previous Experience , with master of engineering I was in this position, as a Maintenance Supervisor and I got 3 times the prize of best worker in the country.

Ok, so that explains that you were good at the job, but why would you want to come to Canada to do that job when you hold a PhD?

I can certainly think of plenty of reasons - the jobs available as a maintenance supervisor could easily pay better than jobs available with a PhD (it's a dirty reality of the PhD business that most are not employed in their degree field, something you might wish to point out.) You may also want to explain why you pursued the PhD (e.g., "personal interest") and why that doesn't eliminate your desire to work as a maintenance supervisor.

Frankly, the other thing to point out to an officer is that a foreign PhD in engineering is not easily transferable into Canada, but the skills you already have are easily transferable.

Of course, the whole thing is a bit ridiculous, since it's not as if you're guaranteed a job in your NOC field. You could just point out that this makes it easier for you to become settled into Canada - that you have a broad range of skills, you qualify in that NOC, etc.

If you have some sort of passion for your work (and a top prize helps here) then you will need to explain it - and explain why that PhD doesn't make you overqualified for the job(s) available in your NOC.

The VO just wants to make sure you aren't coming in for a PhD level job via this NOC. I've not studied the manuals in this regard, but I'm not even sure that it should matter in the decision process.
