Dear Friends,

I applied for Canada PR under FSW but unfortunately my application was refused due to an ineligibity they found. I paid CAD $550 for the work permit. Since my application was refused, I want to contact the CIC office to remind them to post my refund cheque. Could you give me contact details of the department I should write to regarding request for refund? Appreciate your replies. :)

Please give the details as when was the PR application refused, if it was refused after some processing was done then there will be no refund for the $550, I have read in forums that if they issue you a Negative Eligibility Review, even then they do not refund the amount, so if you can give the details about your refusal then we will be able to answer in a better way, whether you will get the refund or not.

Thank you for the reply new2canada. Following is the email I received from the FSW office.

This letter is in response to your letter of 29 March 2012 regarding the application for permanent residence in Canada made by you.

Your application for permanent residence in Canada was considered on its substantive merits and was found to be ineligible for processing. Any different or new information that you have submitted cannot be taken into consideration. A letter explaining the reasons for this final refusal decision was sent to you on 01 March 2012, thereby fully concluding your application.

Should you have different or additional information, you may wish to submit a new application for permanent residence in Canada.

and thank you lubob for providing me with the email.

I am sure you will be getting the refund, did you receive the letter which was sent to you It may take some time so I would request you to wait for the package to reach you, the draft may be there in the package.

Thanks bro. I did not receive the letter yet even though they have claimed to have sent the letter on the 1st of March. Already 3 months have gone by and that's why I'm a bit worried.

I was on the same boat of NER. I sent several mails to them but they didn't replied. Then i sent an email to

minister@cic.gc.ca, after that i received a reply that your refund was issued on 20th December 2011. I told

them that till 15th may 2012 i didn't received any draft from them. Then finance department sent me prefilled

indemnity form 535 with my previous draft details. After downloading the form i signed the form with my

proper current address and sent back to CIO Nova Scotia. Now waiting for reissuance of draft.

The problem is that they send draft through ordinary mail and in my area the postman retired and new

postman was not aware of addresses. I advise you to Do regular check with your post office.
