Hi, I’ve received an approval for my work permit through working holiday program while I’m in Canada (Montreal) as a visitor.
I understood that I can drive to the closest Canada/US border to pick it up.
My question is: is it must be done by me driving with a vehicle? What if I’m not driving or don’t have a vehicle? Is there another way of going there beside with a vehicle?

Thank you

You can take a bus or train to the border and walk if the border is next to a town where there is bus or train service. Renting a car is also an option.

So just to be sure, you think it’s possible to do it by walk?
I can take a bus, just need to be sure if they will let me cross the border and reach to the immigration office by foot.

Thank you

It depends on the border. Some allow foot traffic and some do not. You'll need to research the one you plan to cross.

Hi ,I just want to ask, how did you apply for work permit from tourist visa? I wanted to do it on my sisters application. Thanks

You don’t. Does she have an approved LMIA from an employmer? If so she applies for a closed work permit.
