I constantly keep seeing many people asking how to order gcms notes; although it's been answered hundreds of times on this forum. This is courtesy of Kinza_Bee and many other contributors on how to order GCMS NOTES!

How to apply GCMS / ATIP notes.
Only a person who is in Canada can request the notes. Get your sponsor to request on PA'S behalf!

If principal applicant is in Canada, he/she can request for himself and apply for free under Privacy Act.

If sponsor is requesting it on behalf of Principal applicant, you need consent form from PA and $5 fee. You can receive consent form from spouse via email and upload it. Apply under Access to Information Act.

It takes about 30 days to receive by email. It is a ~30 pages document (can be more than 30 pages)

Consent form:

When you have waited for 60 days or so and no movement on your file. Plus not sure if there is anything a person can do after notes other then wait more ? Those who ordered notes please feel free to chime in with regards to their actions if any after they received the notes, so others know what to expect and not to expect.

I would order GCMS notes within 2-3 months of when Mississauga receives your application. I initially ordered notes because I never got the Schedule A request on GCKEY and panic mode set in, but according to the notes they sent the request;

The GCMS notes indicated all the times I called the call centre and stated I never received the schedule A request. A Call centre agent actually sent out a note to the Officer indicting I never received the request; but I ended up mailing out the Schedule A and saw that it was attached.

Now I'm on the second set of GCMS notes, they help me psychologically because this spousal sponsorship is a long, brutal process and months of waiting to begin my life with my husband is very hard but the notes help me see that they are working on my file and I'm not forgotten.

my file have been moved to LVO couple days ago ecas says med received and gckey says pass... should i start ordering gcms notes just to see whats going on?

Hi!!! I needed some clarification on the consent form to be filled for the GCMS notes. It says separate consent form to be filled for each individual above 18 yrs age in your file.
Now the consenet form has a section B which asks for spouse name and signature. So is this enough or I need to fill another consent form for my wife where her name/signature comes in Section A.

Guys,

Is it possible to order GCMS notes if I do not have anybody with citizenship or PR status in Canada ?

We are on our 3rd set of notes. It is painfully slow, this process. We are almost at the 9 month mark since we sent in our application and yes blah blah blah we are still within normal processing time. However it doesn't help that you see almost everyone else who applied from different VO's at about the same time as us already have gotten their PR. There is basically only about half a dozen people left from January who applied who are still on this forum and people who applied from March and April getting their PR's now, so it is so depressing for us.

To make matters worse, I can't see my spouse because he has this awful job he can't quit where he is on call all the time and when he tries to take vacation time, they will surely call him and he has to go in to fix problems. Therefore we have not seen each other for 9 months. He doesn't dare to quit his job because he knows when he gets to Canada, it will be a while before he finds a half decent job because they don't recognize his credentials from his home country and hence he will have to go back to school, so he needs to save money.

So yes the only thing keeping us sane is to order GCMS notes, which is also a painful process because you have to wait one month to get them and now it seems it is more than one month because so many people order them all because the VO's don't communicate with what is happening for months on end. This is one of the major flaws in this whole process that needs to be fixed. I am sure people will gladly pay extra for them to hire some high school graduate to enter into GCKey what the status of their application is and so they don't have to order these notes and call IRCC call centre or contact their MP's. We already pay an arm and a leg to go through this process ... (Immigration consultants, lawyers etc.) Not to mention we also pay for the notes. Someone please start a petition to lobby for these simple changes!

Does anybody know if I can still order notes? Husband has been in Canada over a year, but just curious to see what was said in our notes (no interview or additional papers needed to be sent in, and process was complete in less than a year, so just curious as to why!)

Not following your question. did you order notes and it said all was done ? or you asking if notes are worth ordering ? Yes you can still order notes but if your process is already completed why would you want to order notes ?

You beat me to it! I want to do this too after everything has been processed. Please do keep me posted in case you indeed request GCMS notes.
