MY WIFE STAYED HERE IN CANADA FOR 1 YEAR NOW, HOW CAN SHE OBTAIN POLICE CERTIFICATE? HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE FOR US TO GET A COPY OF THIS? IS RCMP WILL FORWARD TO POLICE CLEARANCE IN THE IMMIGRATION? IF YES, CAN WE GET A COPY? HOW IT WILL WORK?

I'M ASKING ABOUT THIS AS WE'RE GOING TO SUBMIT OUR APPLICATION FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE SPOUSE IN CANADA THIS NOVEMBER. WE WANT TO INCLUDE THE POLICE CERTIFICATE AND THE MEDICAL BEFORE WE SUBMIT OUR APPLICATION.

PLEASE ADVICE. THANK YOU

I got my police certificate from this company registered to do security checks, including fingerprints (you may want to look for an office near you).

https://www.commissionaires.ca/en/national/home

The fingerprints are taken in less than 10 minutes and results sent to Ottawa in the next hour. You can receive a copy of the security check result in the mail about a week later. Attach that original certificate received in the mail to your PR application.

There's no VALUE in doing an upfront medical---it is needed in the second stage of PR processing. It may even expire before you get to that stage.

thank you for the quick reply.. I read a lot of stories in here that they had their medical before they submitted the application, my friend in Edmonton did that as well. so for my wife, we can do the same, as she is pregnant too and we want the CIC to know about that, we just don't rely in the ultrasound and other documents that will prove that she's pregnant.

if they will ask for another medical after the first stage approval that would be fine too.. its just we want to be sure. thanks anyways..

If you are planning on submitting an inland sponsorship, your wife does not need to submit the Canadian police report. Only need to submit police report from all countries your wife has stayed in 6 month or more since age 18.

The only time your wife would need to submit a Canadian police report is if there is another person living in Canada with same name/sex and birth date that has a criminal record. This is to make sure your wife has a separate record from the criminal and not to get her record mixed up with the other.

The medical requires a chest X-ray. There are some people on here who chose to go ahead with the X-ray while pregnant but it generally isn't advised and it's hard to find a doctor willing to do it. Without the X-ray, the medical will be incomplete; she would need to return for the X-ray after giving birth.

Because of that, I would advise her to wait until after she gives birth to do the entire medical. When you submit the PR app, include a letter explaining that she is pregnant (doctor's note will suffice as proof) and will complete the medical after giving birth.
