Vancouver doesn't have a land crossing. The nearest crossing is Peace Arch in White Rock.
I don't know if Point Robert offers immigration services.
Check my page @ https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/24404541/home.html for a post
called 'Landing in Canada'. This post should give you all the information you need to complete your landing.

Is the train considered a land crossings? I know I've pulled into the train station (by main street skytrain) and had a work permit issued.

I was hoping to use it for when/if my application is approved, taking that train is fun.

I don't know what train station at main street you're talking about :)
As the closest border from Vancouver is Peace Arch in White Rock... at least for what I know has immigration services.

It's the Pacific Central station that a couple of minutes walk from Main Street-Science World Skytrain (I can't post links but it's on wikipedia, i you want to look it up)

I know I've taken the train to Seattle a couple of times (and back) and they have border people in the station itself, I've had work permits approved there by Canadian officers.

I mean, I know I'm being pedantic but I guess there is land services within vancouver, right?
