Hi,

Our child is born outside Canada (not US). Both parents have Canadian PR but we are not residing in Canada.

Can you advise how can we get PR for the new born? Do I need a temp visa or should I apply for PR

Do I need to inform CIC regarding the new born.

Thanks in advance.

This exact same situation has been discussed in the forum recently...you can search and see the replies and info.

In short you have a few things to worry about and address
1) that both of you as PR have to fulfill RO requirements
2) at least 1 of you must be in Canada to sponsor the child
3) how to get the child over to Canada and stay with you, given than he/she will be a visitor. it may be easier for visa-exempt countries, but if a visa is required, that's one extra uncertainty

You can't sponsor your child as long as you are not living in Canada (because neither of you is a citizen).

At least one of you will have to move to Canada first.
