If the passport was made within the last one year, you can get PCC from PSK on the same day. If not, than PSK will initiate a police inquiry and that could take bit longer.

If you opt via local police station, the time period is based on factors like " kal aana", "Saab ni aaye ajj", "abhi lunch time hai", and "few MK Gandhis" if you want to speed up the process.

My suggestion would be to head towards the PSK and get your PCC from them.
