Hello friends

Can someone explain me in detail the algorithm of getting a PCC from Mumbai Commissioner?

Do I need to approach the Commissioner's office located at Crawford market?

Also should I approach them directly or I need to book an appointment to meet them?

In whose favor should I draw the demand draft? How much time it takes?

Do I need to attach EE entry letter or any other correspondence from CIC?

Any help on this is highly appreciated.

I know the process of getting a PCC from PSK. I assert that for Indian residents other than those from Delhi and Punjab, PCC needs to be collected from District Police Station. This is explicitly mentioned in CIC website.

Hi Nirav,

Just make sure that you put your birthplace's name under applicant's details heading - for "village /town /city" as it doesn't specify "current" or "birthplace" city. It happened with me. I asked PSK customer service associate and he suggested me to put current city, but when I printed the receipt it was mentioned as a birthplace. (They should clarify this matter and also modify in current PCC application.)

I was able to request them at PSK though to modify it and they did that. So thought to let you know.

Did you mean to write Mumbai for village / town/ city?

In my case, my birthplace and my current place of stay are same. I live in the same house. I hope I have interpreted correctly.

Hi Nirav,

If your birthplace and current city are the same then its no problem. In that case it will be Mumbai.
So don't worry.

But just take a look at your appointment receipt and see if there is anything that needs to be changed. If there is, then ask them to place the correct data when you go to PSK (they do verify with you and check your passport at the PSK so not to worry at all.)

I expected action plan on step by step procedure to apply for PCC from Additional Police Commissioner's Officer (Mumbai Special Branch).

Anyways I have done it by myself and will soon post a very detailed and comprehensive algorithm, beginning from scratch on obtaining this certificate.
