How to get Passport Back from Consulate AS SOON AS possible.

Hello,

I applied for TRV last week. I sent all the documents along with my passport. But now due to a medical emergency at home, i need to go back to india immedietly. I live in Minneapolis and have sent my passport to Canadian Consulate in Los Angeles.

I wrote a mail to lngls@international.gc.ca to withdraw the application for TRV and asked to return the passport as soon as possible.

Is this the right way to get the passport back, by when do they normally respond. I need the passport immediately to fly back.

Canadian visa offices do not have someone you can call on the phone and speak to. Some do have phone number you can call but you will only get an automated voice, not a real person. I think you should send an email to them. It says on the CIC website they will respond to your email within 28 days. However, it also says on the CIC website if you are contacting the visa office on urgent matter, the subject line of the email must say "URGENT". That is how you can get response from them soonest possible.
