How to get my passport back?

Hello everyone.
I applied for student visa for CHC New delhi in Hyderabad on 26th nov. 2010 for the program which starts on 4th January..
I applied without IELTS and Bankloan.... instead I submitted my TOEFL score and bank balance. I understand that my chances are very slim. I'm sure my visa will be rejected.
Now application status is showing as 'under processing'...
The problem is I got acceptance from US university for Jan 2011. I'm planning to attend US visa interview in the end of December.
I cannot apply for withdrawal, because I heard even withdrawal of application takes too long.
How can I get my passport back from high commission? Is there a way I request my passport, so that I can attend US interview?

I'm so ready to do it.
The only question I have... Where can I find that application?
Is it withdrawal application, what you talking about?
I heard even withdrawal takes more than a month.

No just type a formal application in which tell CHC to send back your passport.
They will do that.
