A question, My wife and I had Canadian born fathers and American mothers. We were born in California. Our fathers are no longer living.My dad was born in Manitoba and my wife's dad was born in Ontario. The requirements for Ontario seems more stringent . They are asking for a guarantor to obtain the info. The Guarantor is supposed to be a Canadian citizen. We live in Las Vegas Nevada, so this would be impossible. My wife and I are trying to get our Canadian Citizenship Certificate and actually relocate with our employers to Canada. Has anyone had a problem getting a parents Birth Certificate ?

There is almost always an alternative to the guarantor; usually a notary public.
