How to extend dependent's visa (kid's visa) from USA?

Hi All,

I entered Canada on my work permit, and dependent's got tourist visa. On the border, my kid got student permit. His visa was valid until his passport validity i.e. March. We renewed his passport in Canada but for work reason we came to USA. And now, we may have to go to Canada in March or April.

My kid's Canada visa is valid only until March. Whereas my work-permit is until September.

How can we extend Kid's visa from USA? Or should we get him new visitor visa? There is still 1.5 month or so until his visa expires, will we be granted new visitor visa? How long will it take?

How did you get over the situation? Did you apply for your kid's visa online ?
