Try sending your queries to this forum as well. No CIC call centre agents here but you'll still be pleasantly surprised.

Hi all. I am from Bangladesh and got accepted in the Express entry pool. I consulted an Immigration lawyer agent. My score is 413 and I asked her about the point system and job or PNP offer since I wont be getting higher than 413 at present.

This was her response.

She said her company will arrange for either Job offer or PNP offer.
She said I do not need to worry about those. I will get one of those. (maybe she assumed it, since I got 8.5/9 in IELTS. R 9, L 9, W 7, S 8 )

But I doubt any individual company can arrange job offer or PNP offer on their own since the whole process is regulated by the canadian government.

Please let me know if any such thing exist... Thank you

An employer can give you a permanent job offer. You may be able to use the job offer to apply for PNP, but the employer cannot directly give you PNP...

If the employer is willing to apply for a LMIA to go with that job offer, once the LMIA is approved you can get 600 pts in EE.

PS you have exactly the same IELTS as I did, and it's actually 8.25 out of 9, even though they round it up to 8.5. Not that it matters :p

This is not true. Please do not trust the lawyer. The only possible thing they can do is to nominate you for PNP. I really doubt the job offer part. Since you are more than 400, please try for OOPNP. You can also check if ur eligible for SINP or NB PNP and try for it.

Hi Asivad Anac, I know you've been super helpful around here, but the thing is its regarding the controversial topic of Two or more degree qualification and I need to ask the authorities coz as much as i respect everyone's opinions here, my take from the CIC website where they convert the ECA results into CRS qualification is that when ECA report says one year of graduate study, it means study towards a master's degree in which case it will qualify as Two or more degrees.....its a huge point that needs verification in my EE profile and so am desperately seeking CIC contact information

If you're referring to this link (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/eca-conversion.asp) then you're already at the right place.

What you need to do next is identify what is written right at the top of your ECA report because that is your equivalency summary which will guide you in choosing the right option. What follows below that is the individual detail which is good to have but not of any consequence towards gaining CRS points.

If your equivalency says Bachelors + Study towards a Master's degree or even simply Study towards a Master's degree, go ahead and confidently choose the option for "Two or more....".

All the best!

yes thats the link, but my equivalency does not say study towards master's degree it says bachelor's degree of four years and one year of graduate study....thats why the dilemma coz its not the exact same words, i would be confident if a CIC person could tell me that until then im gonna stick to my assimilation of the subject n stay with two or more option....i hope to god im not wrong

I understand what you're saying.

But do remember that CIC call centre agents are just that - call centre agents reading out from a script. I'm fairly sure that they aren't adequately trained to handle nuances of this magnitude and they have been routinely wrong, inconsistent and unaware of policy changes in the past. I don't blame them at all but that's how it is. Do call them and get an understanding of what they think.

If you want to know what CIC thinks, you'll just have to choose whichever option you think is valid, submit your application (after getting an ITA) and wait for their response to the application. That's a risky strategy but that's also the only way of knowing what CIC thinks.

All the best!

Hi,

I tried to contact WES many times about this topic but they always ask me to email. I emailed them many times but got only one reply to contact CIC for any Express entry query.

I just asked them if they could explain what does "One year of graduate study" mean?

I do not know whom to contact for this.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.
