how to check status

hi all

My question is that apart from online Is there any other way to chk the status of my application?
My wife is sponsoring me from canada and file is now at london.
they ask me some additional docs which i sent 4 months bak and after that there is no
answer or acknowledge.

some one told me to write them and ask about the reception of your papers and the status of your aplication.

Should i write them or wait further?
Wot can be the possibilities?

You can send an e mail and ask the status. Perhaps they may reply after a week or more. Try your luck!

well my wife has submitted file from canada so the case specific enquiry form says if you are in
canada then call therwise fill in the CSE form .
i just want to ask you should she call from canada cause she is the main applicant
or i need to email from london via ECAS?
What will be better?

I'm in a similar position as you, being processed at the London office. London started processing ours on November 5th, and we haven't heard a word from them since, not even to ask for an interview or for more information. So I guess our application is okay, but don't really know. So I've tried various ways to get a status update.

I've tried the online email form...got no response.
My wife called CIC from Canada...they basically told her London is processing the case and they can't help.
I went down to the actual visa office in London (twice!) and filled out an enquiry form and handed it in, no response from either of them.
We sent away for our CAIPS notes a few weeks ago but haven't received them yet.

So now my wife is trying to contact her MP in Canada to get them to make an enquiry on our behalf as to what the hold up is. I know that 8 months isn't a long time to wait for an application to complete from start to finish (over 5 months of that at the London office). But it's frustrating seeing cases on Trackitt being processed from start to finish (via London) taking 3 months.

well as i believe she rang at call center at canada few months bak but they said the same thing that the file is at london. its been almost 8 month that the file is in london.

whatever CIC is doin but could u pls tell me about MP as i dont know the MP thingy that the way how to get MP i mean how to cootact and how to ask status and how much time it take for enquiry.

I'm not really sure to be honest. I've read that other people have contacted their member of parliament and the MP got a response in a couple of weeks. See if your wife knows who her local member of parliament is and get her to contact their office and see if they can make an enquiry for you.

also remember not to contact the immigration center all the time by faxing emailing telephoning they get more suspecious as to why you are so eager to come canada

ok m gonna contact CIC other ways nd i ll try to go through MP that sounds more practical.
actually the thing that scares me is m on student visa in london and its gone expire in july but there is no response from . well see what happened.
