Guys i have question that i didn't get from anywhere.
We all know if we get 6 bands in each module then it will be CLB level 7..
But..
How to convert different band scores into CLB level ?
Lets assume
Listening - 8.5
Reading - 6.5
Speaking - 6
Writing 5.5

The scores would no be eligible - the minimum score allowed for all 4 sections is a "6"

Having a "5.5" in Writing makes your entire score ineligible, therefore you'd get zero points.

how to calculate CLB level ??

#1 - my name is "Johnny" - not Jhonny

#2 - the calculations are done individually using the following chart:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/language-testing.asp

For example:
Speaking 6 to 7= 4 points
Speaking 7.5 = 5 points
Speaking 7 to 9 = 6 points

Rest are calculated the same ways

Hi Johnny,

"Happy new year "

I'm a new candidate in this forum. I've seen so many answers of yours in regard to the CLB level. I have a small suggestion if you could serve to all friends without disappointing them, if they do not get enough score.

I think, Under new express entry system, for those who wants to apply under FSW, only and only they should have CLB 7. However, there is other category as well, "skilled Trade programme", for that, one just have to clear CLB level 5. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Regards,
Upen

It's calculated individually by each groups (W/S/R/L)

Thanks boss, for the points calculator. but it wont say out of total point :( ::)

You can add them on your own - after you do the calculations individually for each sections.

Hi Dear All,

I have a question with regards to the CLB points system, so to put it through let me first give you details about my IELTS scores

I have the following IELTS General Scores -
Listening 7.0
Reading 7.5
Writing 6.5
Speaking 7

After conversion to CLB, I get the below CLB scores -
Listening 7.0
Reading 9.0
Writing 8.0
Speaking 9.0

So my question here is that, with the above scores should my CLB score be the average of the 4 scores? (i.e 7+9+8+9 / 4 = 8)
Or would it still be considered as CLB 7 as my IELTS listening points are not 7.5.

My other question is for whether New Brunswick Express Entry (http://www.welcomenb.ca/content/dam/wel-bien/pdf/ExpressEntryGuide-E.pdf)
would allot points based on each of the subjects individually?

So can I expect 6 points each for Speaking and Listening, 5 points for Writing and 4 points for Speaking?

Thanks in advance. Any insight into this would be extremely helpful.

Regards,
Dinesh
