How to be a Canadian CA....when you have passed USA CPA...

For some reason, I received this thread. Changing from a CA to a CPA means re-schoooling as it, unfortunately, should.

As per me notorized photocopy should be fine thats what facsusa admin department told me in phone but kindly refer with facsusa and send repeat email to confirm whether they will accept original,transcript or notorized photocopy
Im planning to send my one to canada for evaulation...

I went to the website facsusa.com....downloaded the form for 'Advisory Evaluation of foreign Credentials'...I have the following questions for you regarding the same:

Is it that only on the basis of advise from facsusa...the board where we want to transfer the score, would actually transfer the score with 150 hrs requirement?

Is it that after getting CPA scores tfd to a state have a reciprocity with Canadian CA institute, we would be eligible for CARE exams?

What would be the importance of such evaluation certificate in Canada other than being eligible for Canadaian CA?

Did you send each & every certificate to FACSUSA.....e.g for B.com, all three years marksheets and for CA - CA Inter & CA Final?

Hey im planning to send my document to International Credential Assessment Service of Canada in ontario but some of things still not cleared so still waiting confirmation from their end..
what about you ...when did u cleared ur CPA?
If ur CA plus M.COM you can send docs where pankaj is planning to send check out www.facsusa.com..

see michigan board can transfer score without 150 hr of education but thing we guyz not only need the board which has direct reciprocaty with Canadian CA institiute but also the 150 hr requirement
send ur all docs to facsusa let them decide how many hrs they calculate if you get it den later on you can transfer score from colorado to michigan board and show 150 hr credential evaulation done by facsusa..with this we can definately give our CA reciprocaty exams(CARE)..
As i told u earlier with my CA,BCOM &CPA.im getting only 120 hr but with ur addition CS you can get 150 hr but nobody is sure for this things until you evalaute your education

I did my CPA from Colorado Last year.Im also bcom,CA& CPA..Sending credential for evaluation to canada is little bit complicated .
Im also repenting for not being m.com otherwise we would have easily done with 150 hr requirement and transfer our score to michigan board any waz second option to send docs to canada ASAP...let me know if you have any other info......
When did you send ur docs? and which is ur visa office>>?

Hi folks,

I'm on the same boat. To become CA we have to take 4 exams (CARE). It looks like harder than US CPA exams due to the written test (non-Multiple-Choice) and the exam availability (Canada: once a year; US: multiple times a year). Well, anyway, I would really appreciate if anyone can offer information about the CA exam review. Like US, we have Becker, Gleim, etc. I couldn't find out such review provider in Canada.

I have contacted International Credential Assessment Service of Canada in onatrio and they are asking for all transcript..Im planning to apply for transcript for CA,B.COM,CPA and send them ASAP and later we guyz can easily transfer our CPA score from Colorado to Michigan board...
