How to approach companies about a LMIA?

Hi Everyone,

I am from Germany and I am finishing my Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management. I am currently searching for work in Alberta and BC with companies who need expertise in logistics, operations and supply chain management. I am focussing on management consulting companies, construction companies, and oil and gas suppliers.

I am wondering what the best way is to approach these companies. I know that I will eventually need to inquire about the possibility of getting a LMIA. Does anyone have any tips in regards to this?

Likewise, does anyone with experience in this regard know of any companies with a good history in hiring foreign workers?

Thank you for your help :)

Ohh I've met bunch of you guys in Alberta and BC. All I can tell you that most of Germans come here on IEC (International Experience Canada) work permit. One of them went to Yukon right away, found company to work for and after a year he had his PR and moved to BC. So that would be the easiest way for you to get to Canada.

You have to understand that it's hard to find employer that will hire you without checking your experience, skills etc. So as long as you don't know someone who is already here or someone who is in charge or HR you chances are LOW. From there the only option you have is IEC or tourist visa.
