Hi Angel,

The Supervisa for parents/grandparents is very similar to a visitor's visa, but it is specific for parents and/or grandparents. As such, you should meet the requirements of a visitor's visa (proof of sufficient ties of the parents to their home country) as well as additional requirements like that of medical insurance.

To be eligible for supervisa,
- you/your parents should prove their relationship with you. (your birth certificate, your parent's marriage certificate and their birth certificate)
- you should prove that you meet the low-income cut off when you sponsor them
- you should prove that you have purchased an insurance cover for your parents for a minimum 1 year with a coverage of $100,000
- your parents should provide evidence that they have sufficient ties back to their home country so that they would leave Canada at the end of the visa

Does this information help?

It has to be Canadian insurance. Google Canada SuperVisa Insurance and you'll get a lot of information there.
