Hi all,
I am working on my family class sponsorship application forms to immigrate to Canada. Should answer yes or no to this question: "Have you been previously married or in a common-law relationship?" if my spouse and previous common law partner is actually one person. So basically, my husband and I were in a common-law relationship (we did declare our relationship) before we got married. Since this question asks to list the name and information of "previous spouse or partner", I doubt it does not apply to us. I actually sent my application under inland sponsorship few months ago (I am currently living in Canada) but then withdrew it to do the outland sponsorship so that I am free to travel in and out of Canada. Because in the previous application file, my marital status was still "in a common-law relationship", I guess the officer will still have my common law relationship status on file.

Thank you for helping me out!

Hello I have same question so basically if previous common law and current married person are same we select no?
Correct.

The question is asking if you were previously married or in a common-law relationship with anyone else BEFORE your current spouse/sponsor.

If you look at the OP's previous post, they intend to sponsor their parents for PGP in 2021. So the application must got approved.

So, do I have to enter 'No' to the question asking for whether or not have I been in a common law relationship previously?
