Hi all

I'm applying PR under CEC program and would like to outline certain things to CIC. but I only have to do it in a specific section - "Identity and Civil Status Document" section. Has anyone had experience before about it? Do you think if I should write a cover letter putting in front of the entire application? or just write a brief letter to outline what i want to tell them and put in front of that section?

any ideas will be appreciated!!
Thank you!

Yes, cover letters are key to outline your application in a clear and linear way. Use it to bring light to potential discrepancies and for highlighting important information. Try to be concise.

Most CEC applications are super straightforward. What are you trying to outline that needs clarity?

Thank you very much for getting back to me.
here is my case and why I need to do so: my boyfriend is applying under CEC with me as the common law partner. we have been with each other for 3 years and official common law relationship since last year September. We will be getting married soon after I met his parents in Jan.

Since now we only have declaration form, joint bank account statement, lease agreement, utilities. I think it's too week to prove our relationship, even tho I know it's real.

I want to let CIC knows that we will also send out marriage certificate as soon as we got married. And also told them the fact that we studied and met each together in Canada. Just to be more proof that our relationship is true love.

What do you think?(please feel free to give me all ideas.)

You will be fine. As long as you have enough supporting documentation, you will be ok. By the time they request any sort of interview or anything, you will already be married, so you will be fine.

Apply now with as much supporting documentation as possible and write a concise cover letter to detail what you believe to be a point of concern for the visa officer.
