How "strict" is entering the "N/A"?

It may sound strange, but it's frustrating -- did you enter "N/A" in every box possible in particular sections (such as when no children, etc.), or is it sufficient to just enter "N/A" in only one box in a given section?

I had my application returned to me due to a missing document.

I did not do the N/A thing on the actual application and nothing was mentioned about it when it was returned.

So I would say; not strict at all.

Hi, for second entry for "child" (I have one child) I entered N/A in all the personal details boxes (Name, DOB etc) and on the first row of the education history. It's frustrating to know what is right, I know!

However, specifically on the child details when I phoned CIC the representative suggested including a note clarifying your personal situation (even though this should be obvious from the application form). I put a statement along the lines of "I only have one child <personal details> etc etc". Obviously you can do the same for your personal situation.

My view is that the CIC agent seemed to keep reiterating including supplementary notes, so I just went with the approach of clarifying any questions that could potentially be unclear with a statement on an additional sheet of paper.

I hope this helps

You dont have to enter N/A in every empty cell.

Just one N/A to a particular question in enough.

I was a single application and didn't wrote any N/A on my application. I was so afraid they would return but nothing happened and had my test done with no issues.
