I was one of the unfortunates who applied under the CEC in October just around the time the max number of applications was reached for 2014. My application was received 3 days after the cap for 2014 had filled, and instead of an AOR, I got a letter of rejection in the mail yesterday.
This means my pending BOWP application will also be returned to me any day now, and then I will have to stop work immediately since my current WP has already expired.
My employer is not too thrilled about this. They don't have any LMO/LMIAs right now, although they did in the past (aviation company, I'm a pilot).
So, I am desperately looking for other options now. I meet the requirements for Express Entry, and my employer would be willing to support me through the PNP for BC. But I do need to get a work permit back as soon as possible - things are going to get busy here in a couple months and they will need me back at work, or they will have to hire and train someone else, and I'll be out of the game.
My understanding is that you can apply for a BOWP once you get your AOR, however that works only if you still have a current WP. Which I don't.
I see on welcomebc.ca that there is an option to get a Work Permit Support Letter from BC PNP after your application has been accepted.
... but they, too, say that you have to be within 120 days of expiry?
Basically my question is: If I apply under the PNP in BC, is there ANY way for me to get a WP back before the PR is granted?

We will only accept requests for work permit support letters if ALL of the following are met:
you have been nominated by the BC PNP, and
you have submitted your application for permanent residence to CIC within the six-month period after you have been nominated, and
you continue to meet the conditions under which you were nominated, and
your current work permit expires within 120 days.
