Hi everyone! I am really hoping someone can shed a little bit of light on this subject.

My husband (who is from Albania) and I will be submitting our application within the next 2 weeks, hopefully. Everything is basically filled out and ready to go, but I have NO idea how to start organising everything so that it is easy and appealing to the immigration officers. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Also, I don't really want to send all of our original cards (birthdays, holidays, valentines, etc) as they are very special to us. Is it OK to send photocopies of these?

Thanks you in advance for your suggestions and comments!

this forum is such a wonderful place with a lot of kind people!

GOOD luck with your application!

I'm starting on mine. It will probably take forever as I tend to procrastinate.

i just put everything together just follow the checklists and in that order
you have to hand everything orginal unless it states otherwise, but they only accept orginals
if you make a copy they will think, oh its photoshop. You know its not but they might

Hey rd24,

Did you end up applying? I was reading your other blog about your story. My husband is Albanian from Kosovo so was just looking who else was Albanian on the forum.

I would love to hear an update on your case. I really hope things are working out! Almost all Albanians have had to illegally immigrate to more developed European countries for work :(

Cheers! Good Luck!

You may send in copies of these particular items. Sending originals of these items risks that you may not get them back. You may also write in a letter the original cards can be sent in if they require them. The documents that are normally requested to be original are Government such as Marriage Certificate, Police Clearance Certificate, etc. Check your country specific instructions and follow what it says, It will be written if they require ORIGINAL documents.

Country specific instructions state whether or not ORIGINALS are required. If it is not specifically stating ORIGINAL or Notarized Copies, Normal photo copies will be sufficient.

Hi LLAngel

We did apply. The process has been quick so far. Our visa office is in Italy. I was approved as a sponsor in 63 days and my husband's paperwork was sent to Italy and the process began less than 2 weeks later. They were sent to Italy on May 22nd and they started processing on June 1st.

We have had SOME problems (Visa office could not find a police check, though it WAS included) - so I had to phone the embassy about that and they finally found it, thank goodness. Also, they sent an email with the wrong application number. So I recommend to really keep a close eye on your emails and sort the problems out ASAP.

Good luck!
