How should announce partial period of work

if applicant work in company "X" for 3 years , But , He wants to claim just 1 year of it ,
work letter(confirmation letter) How should looks like ?
i mean can be written just 1 year of whole duration , or better to write all 3 years ,So , this 1 year also included

Are you trying to differentiate 1 year of skilled experience from 2 years of unskilled work? If that's the case, in my opinion it is better to write 3 years and claim 1 year with explanation of titles and duties since you started working there.
This is because you also need to enter your activities from past 10 years and this will show up here.

This employer........name..............worked here as a ..........position............from 5 Aug 2016 to 1 Aug 2017
