how renew a work permit

hi there, whats going on
my work permit is gonna expire in a couple months, i would like to stay in canada but i dont wanna renew with my actual company, i would like to move to another province (im living in alberta and i would like to move to vancouver or winnipeg), so, in this case, what can i do? try to find another company in those cities? pay to some inmigration lawer and try to get a open work permit or what? im wondering because i want to stay in canada legal...

You would have to find a new employer. The employer should apply for labor market opinion (LMO) and HRSDC confirmation (if required).

Then you need to apply for new work permit.

1) If you apply for new work permit before the expiry of current one, you will be in implied status. You can work for the current employer till you hear from CIC.
2) If the current work permit expires you will lose your status. Then you would need to apply for restoration of status within 90 days along with your new work permit application. You cannot work but can stay in Canada till you hear from CIC.
3) You cannot apply for new work permit if it is 90 days after the current work permit expiry, you would have to leave Canada.
