Good Morning,

I am about to finish my Masters in Computer Engineering From Texas, US and My wife she is a Master Degree holder in Computer Science From Texas, US and Working full time for a firm as web developer. I have about 5 years of experience in software industry which include 2 years and 8 months in India for a software giant and 2 years as web developer and Software developer in my university as a part time job.

I would like to know what are my chances to get permanent residency in CANADA?? And how much time will it take if my start my process in December 2010. I have one more question that if i get my permanent residency can I file for my parents' permanent residency or DO I have to wait for some time??

Thanks in advance

@nrana, with new rule changes in Jun 26 2010 you may not be eligible to apply under FSW 1. Please check cic.gc.ca for more details

I am not sure if you or your wige hold H1, in that case you may be eligible for Alberta PNP program but wait for others to comment on that as I have only heard abt it and really don't know much about it

As ankit_20 mentioned, for IT professional PR is not an option under FSW1, try for Alberta PNP

It will take you betn 12-24 months from start to finish the PR process

You need to sponsor your parents once you get your PR and you have stayed 1yr on PR and you have enough funds

good luck, try with Alberta PNP ( if you are your wife on H1b visa)

Thank you guys for your reply..really appreciate.

Can you give me some reference where I can learn more about Alberta PNP ? So FSW1 and Alberta PNP are different method to get PR in Canada?? Am i correct? As I have just started searching about Canada Immigration I don't know much for Canada immigration.

And Once I get PR through Alberta PNP I can apply PR for my parents within one year if I have good job and bank balance. Is that correct??
To apply for Alberta PNP you have to have h1b in US??? As I am graduating in December it will take some time so I want to know if I can start my process before I get h1b

Thanks
