Maybe this is the most thread you ever read. But i really want to know.
As my plans go with migrating/moving to Canada, i will go first as tourist next year, to see how it is, etc. but i am curious in one thing. Recently i won on lottery huge amount of money, i have been plaing Lotto for ages, and i want to do this in Canada too, but also i want to work.

So how much i can put in Canadian bank account money that are from lottery? Or any huge money? I have never done any illegal thing, so i would like to keep save my money in bank and use them when i need something etc.

Ye i know very stupid questions:D

So you would be bringing cash? If so, you need to declare them to the BSO at your port of entry. If wired, the bank will declare it for you. I think as long as you have proofs about your winnings, it will be okay. You might want to contact CBSA or banks (such as HSBC) for double check.

I am just planning to see how does banking work in Canada. Yes i would like to bring some cash to support me in Canada, but all i want to do first is to someone offer me a job in Canada. Before that, i am working hard to get some level of experience, of what studios look for:)

What is BSO? what do you mean proof? The ticket i need to show them? What is CBSA?

What about winning a lottery there in Canada? Should i put all the lottery winning in bank, without a problem in Canada?

BSO = Border Services Officer
CBSA = Canada Border Services Agency

Well, you need a work permit in order to work in Canada. For all details about visiting Canada, get work permit and entering Canada as a tourist, I suggest you really read the Citizenship and Immigration Canada and CBSA websites.

Like I said, talk to the bank for details. There should be no limit on how much you can put.
