I am a Canadian citizen and I would like my sister to get a visitor visa to temporarily visit Canada. She is Sri Lankan. She has applied before but has got rejected because she has had insufficient funds to come to Canada. I will pay for her expenses during her Visit under my house hold. I was just wondering how much exactly money would be required for her to come to Canada. The money my sister showed on her application was about 20,000$. By the way, she is applying for 2 weeks.

Thank you for your time,

Was that the only reason she was rejected? $20,000 (CAN) is more than enough for two weeks.

did she present enough proof for home tie ex) job, school, family etc?

if she did not, maybe that would be another reason.

I don't think money is the problem. My wife, gf at that time, got approved with 6000$ and she was asking for 3 month but she had strong tie to her country, home owner, good job, family obligation....

I visited Canada with no fund!! My sister covered all the expenses during my stay as she stated it in the letter to immigration but I sent all the nessary documents for my employment to immigration ..mennaing that they believed that I wont stay in Canada after my stay. So your sister should present enough proof that immigration is convinced that she will turn back to her country. 20,000$ way more than needed!
