We are a family of 2. So we need to bring C$13,486 during landing.
How much more can we bring during landing in the form of cash/DD etc?

Thanks

As much as you want or can carry. Just remember to declare it to Customs on entry.

I don't think so... but please seek someone else's advice :)

I guess that this type of declaration have things to do with money laundering... but not taxes.
(not sure... someone please confirm).

I just returned home from landing in Toronto about 2 weeks ago. the Immigration officer did ask if I had any proof of funds, I said yes and wanted to provide him with a copy of my bankaccounts and suddenly he said that it wasn't needed!

So, I stood there, got a few papers in my hand and had some 1500,- dollars in my bag which I had bought right before my departure and just in case and he only asked if I had any cash with me, I said yes, how much it was and I showed him the money. He wrote that down and that was IT!

I was directed to the custom declaration officer and when I handed in my proof of funds, she refused it and said that I had to take pictures of all the goods and note down the serial numbers of laptops, camera, rugs (silk or wool etc) and may hand it in next time I travel to Canada!

and there I was, out of the airport in a few minutes only! and I was the only one at the airport it seemed!!! NOBODY else around...
