Hi all,

My husband applied to enter as a skilled worker (which was recommended by CIC at the time because we were not married yet). He applied in May 2006, and we were married in October 2006. We just received a letter requesting proof of funds, and employment references. I'm wondering if anyone has an idea how much longer it should take before a decision is made on his application?? This has been a very lengthy and stressful process for us. The poor guy has his Master's degree, and just wants to work!!! He is currently in Canada on a Visitor's visa and is looking for work, but nobody will hire if you aren't a permanent resident or Canadian Citizen...what a catch 22!!

1. I assume you are a Canadian citizen or PR, if you are your spouse should have withdrawn his application and you refiled to sponsor him, he probably would be "landed" by now.
2. Has he been requested to take the medicals? If so, then should get his request for Passport in the next 2/3 months, if not it may be a while yet. I hope that he has informed Buffalo that he married a Canadian, they might speed the application with the request for medicals.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I am a Canadian Citizen. We have updated the application to reflect our marriage, and no they have not requested a medical. I an curious if we cancel this process and I sponsor him, if it would be quicker. I actually the office of David Cohen and the secretary took my name and number, but nobody returned my call. This was almost a week ago.
