I'm currently here in Dubai as an Overseas Foreign Worker and my resident visa is valid for 3 years. I have a pending Immigration application which started to be processed on June 29, 2005, received a notice from the embassy last year on November 2008 informing me that if I don't respond within 3 months they can proceed with my application.
My brother invited me to spend my one month vacation in Canada this coming February. However, the information in any Canada website does not exactly state how much proof of funds should be presented. My bank account is with CITI bank where my salary is transferred which has been active over a year now and of course non-interes earning account. Therefore, most of my transactions are withdrawal and payments to my loan, loans that started from May are all reflected in my statements since it is a salary loan. Will these affect the consideration of granting me a TRV? Moreover, I have a time deposit back in Manila which I decided to pull out because it doesn't earn much there and I'm planning to deposit it here in Dubai to earn more interest at least, can I do this and will this be questionable to the Immigration Officer especially that the account is new? Or shall I present them my previous letter of certification from the bank in Manila? Also, to mention is the current tenancy of contract in which I fund the quarterly payment through my bank also which is 10, 000 UAE dirhams. Can I present them the Tenancy of Contract of my studio apartment to establish the trust of the Immigration Officer that I have so much things and obligations to come back here in Dubai?
I really need your advise on this matter as I really wanted to go and see my brother and being there on his birthday could be my greatest present for him. I've been to Qatar 6 years ago for a 6-month work, travelled to Egypt for 5 days, visited Bangkok for a day and 6 hours in Singapore.
Additional information: My brother is a Citizen in Canada and has been living there for almost 14 years, owned a home, car,etc...and he's able to fully support me and provide all of his proof of status.
Please help me and tell me my chances of getting a TRV and can I apply for multiple-entry visa?...thank you for your time and be waiting for your response...
