More newbie questions from someone completing their file. I'm almost finished my evidence folder and it's starting to be ... enormous...

Here's how we organized it:

  • Attached envelope at back containing original boarding passes/tickets

3) Contact:
  • 3 phone bills with sporadic calls to each other highlighted, I'm not even sure I should include this...we don't talk by phone (18 pages)
  • Compiled Skype call log from Feb 2012 - Aug 2012, Skype crashed each time we tried go further back (31 pages)
  • Facebook - screenshots of relationship, engagement and marriage announcements on both our accounts (6 pages)
  • 24 complete days worth of randomly selected chat logs spanning 2009-2012 (approx 150 pages)
  • love letters sent via email (20 pages)
  • scans of birthday cards we wrote to each other (10 pages)

  • Wedding Bands and Engagement ring receipt (4 pages)
  • Print out of our guest spreadsheet (2 pages)
  • Honeymoon hotel and flight itineraries (5 pages)

Are we just giving the VO too much work to do? How much evidence did you guys include in your files?

Some would say its to much evidence of the relationship, some like me for exemple, who had to get through an interview would say its not to much.

Now all depends of you.

Its your call!

Good luck!

Because of my husband's citizenship origin, we put in as much proof as possible for everything so that no doubt is cast on our relationship. It's probably going to weigh about 5 pounds. Boarding passes, hotel bookings, train tickets, bus tickets, e-mails, skype chats, phone bills, voip logs... etc.

The problem was our photographs - we had something like 4000 from our wedding and somehow we managed to cut the wedding photographs to 150 for the application (not including all our pictures from other trips). It was maybe 55 pages I think? While we were putting together ours, I realized it totally depends on the situation. If a couple has only been together for four months and have a 500-page application, it would probably look strange. Or if they've been married for 20 years but have little to show of their lives being merged. As long as it's relevant to your case and not making the visa officer's job extra difficult. For example - I tried cutting down on photographs (we ended up with almost 300 at the end) since my husband kept wanting to submit photographs of the exact same shot but slightly different expressions because his hair looked great in both! ("But it's such a great picture!!") ???

So, I think you're going to be fine. :) Good luck.
