I just married an American woman and we are on our way to Canada.
My wife's personnel belongings, furniture, and clothes are being shipped to Canada from the U.S.A. in a moving truck.
It's all stuff she has had for years. The only new stuff is wedding gifts we just received.
it's enough stuff to fill a one bedroom apartment.
Should I expect to pay duty/taxes for this on the stuff that she has had for years (ie, clothes, belongings, furniture)?
Can anyone who has been through this before give me an idea of how I can figure out how much it will cost?
