You can start applying from the website of CIC. Or you can type Canada PR in Google and you will find the link.. there you can also check your eligibility.

The initial process you have to do is just fill the form with correct details and send it to given address..

Then later process you can also do from Australia..

dear lsn,

if u don't mind, can u share wht is your status in Australia and why do u want to migrate away from there (Australia being a popular migration destination itself)

and here is useful link for FSW overview. it might reduce some of your googling effort

You can apply from brisbane if you have atleast 1 yr valid visa from the date you send your application. Otherwise you will have to choose indonesia as your visa office not sydney but for that you can still apply from brisbane dont have to go back to indonesia.

My visa valid on March 2011, do you think I still have time?

But I still dont understand to applying by online. Can you guide me step by step how to applying online? or should I use agent or lawyer?

I have question, for IELTS test, how much I should get the result for each band (listening, reading, writing and speaking)?

you don't need to have 1 more year left on your visa. You just needed to have had a visa that allowed you into the country for at least 1 year. Since you were given a visa for more than a year (regardless of how long you have been there or how much time you have left on the visa), you may apply

I understand that in order to apply to a local embassy (sydney in this case) as a foreign applicant, you must have been living in Australia at least for 2 years, otherwise you have to apply to the embassy from the country of origin.

Hi,

As your visa is expiring on March 2011 you cant choose Sydney as your visa office so it will be Indoonesia or any other country where they deal with indoonesian applicants. You cant apply online you will have to fill the forms and send it through mail to Canada. You can do it by yourself everyone here on this forum will be happy to help you but its upto you wheather you want a lawyer or not. For IELTS it depends how many points you are scoring for your language. So if you are scoring 16 / 16 points from english then you will have to score atleast 6.5 in each band BUT i am not exactly sure about this score it needs to be in High Proficiency to get 16 points.

Because his visa is expiring in march 2011 and he needs to have atleast 1 yr valid visa to choose Sydney. CIC returns the application if you dont have atleast 1yr valid visa for the country you are staying in other then your home country. I have seen one applicant whose application was returend by CIC and was told to send it to his home country office.

So this person does have one year valid visa. It doesn't have to be valid for a year more. He just needs to be admitted into the country for a year and he was.

What i know is that he needs to have another 1yr valid visa to apply and its may 2010 going on so only 10 months more he has and the reason why CIC demand for 1 yr is because it takes normally 1 yr to process an application and if he moved back to home country then he will have to re-submit his docs to his country visa office thats what my knowledge is.

They had this rule even when it used to take 5 years to do the visa. Its just to stop people from applying anywhere they feel like. The rule is that you should be admitted into the country for 1 year....unless they have changed that rule recently. Anyway, that is just my opinion, I am not an expert.
