How many years as an PR should one be before he/she can sponsor a spouse?

I am a new immigrant here in Canada. Just landed last October 2018. My sibling and I were sponsored by my mother via live-in caregiver program. Unfortunately, because of the very long wait, my father died waiting so he wasnt able to come with us. My long-time boyfriend and I will be tying the knot this year, August 2019. We have been waiting for this for a very long time and we both are very excited.

I got concerned about few things. I will be starting my studies this September and is currently in a student loan. I want to sponsor my soon-to-be husband as soon as I can when I come back here from our wedding because nobody wants to be married and be separated by their spouse, right? Because of the many concerns, I was doing lots of research and found this statement hard to understand.

"were sponsored by a spouse or partner and you became a permanent resident less than five years ago"

This is statement is under "You CANNOT be a sponsor if..."

My question is:

1. Does this question implies that I still have to wait for 5 years before I can sponsor my spouse ( because I will still be one year as PR by then when I will apply for my partner)? OR does it mean "if you were sponsored by your spouse less than 5 years ago, you cannot sponsor someone else"? It kinda has a double meaning.

2. Will being a student and having a student loan affect my application?

PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME. IF ANYONE HAS THE SAME EXPERIENCE OR SIMILAR EXPERIENCE, PLEASE DO GIVE ME SOME ADVICE. I AM VERY WORRIED AND I MISS MY PARTNER SO MUCH AND EVERY MONTH AWAY FROM HIM IS TORTURE. (yea i know its too much). I just need some guidance and enlightenment. Thank you and Godbless!

Have you and your partner ever lived together for one continuous year?

1. You were not sponsored. You were included as a dependent.

2. You need to show how you are your partner will support yourselves in Canada. If you have no income, you will need to show other financial resources.

Thank you so much for the clarification and for the correct term. It is a very good learning for me.

No. we haven't lived together like live-in partners since I came from a conservative family. But we have been bf/gf for 4 years already. Regarding the proving on how to support, will that be in a form of letter? Thank you so much

A letter will not be sufficient. You will need to show actual finances, such as income, savings, family assistance etc., with a detailed plan of support.
