How many times can i enter canada...?

Im going to Canada next Saturday i have single entry visa(6 months duration) how many times can i enter Canada if i travel only to the US not to any other country than the US.I read on cic website the following:
A single entry visa allows you to come to Canada only one time. Once you have left Canada, excluding travel to the United States and St. Pierre and Miquelon, you will need a new visa to travel back to and enter Canada.

Please let me know if its true because i have US visa b1/b2 and want to cross the border and then return..THIS IS EMERGENCY

You can try to enter as many times as you want to. Whether you are actually allowed into Canada is up to the CBSA officer you encounter at the border.
