Dear friends,

I had attended the IELTS GT test on 21 August 2010 in Doha, Qatar and got the following score:

Listening- 8
Reading- 6
Writing- 6.5
Speaking-7

How many points I can claim in the language category?

I think you meant 12

Listening- 8 = 4 points
Reading- 6 = 2 points
Writing- 6.5 = 4 points
Speaking-7 = 4 points

4+2+4+4=14 points
